Our Mission
We believe in the worth of every individual and their right to a meaningful life. Our purpose is to nurture the full potential of families and their children, from birth to three, with disabilities. We do this through a personalized, comprehensive program of assessment, therapy, education, and support.

We are pleased to introduce Joel, Guild School 2008 Poster Child

Joel began at the Guilds' School when he was just 4 months old, receiving physical and speech, and eventually he also started occupational and cognitive therapies. According to Mom, he has made wonderful improvements with the help of the therapists at the SGS. He recently began sitting up on his own, something his therapists and parents had spent much time working on with him. With the help of Sallie, his speech therapist, in one month, he learned how to use a straw, and then drink from an open cup. "Joel never took a bottle, so the fact that he could use a straw and can now drink from an open is just amazing," tells Mom. Her face glowing with pride, she shares that "we celebrate each little accomplishment as they happen. It gives us hope as he continues making progress."

Mom is excited to share is that Joel has begun to connect things in his mind to what he sees and he has begun to communicate by using sign language. The proud parents are excited to see what other accomplishments are in Joel's future. "We never give up. I think that's the most important thing. Don't sell your child short, regardless of what appears to be his or her ability. Have realistic expectations and celebrate every little accomplishment as they happen."

"We are extremely grateful because our family has been able to build a strong foundation, and our confidence to support and be an advocate for our son has grown in leaps and bounds because of the wonderful and dedicated staff at the SGS. We don't know where Joel's development would be without all their support."

The Inland Northwest Region Porsche Club of America conducts a special Saturday Fund Drive each year.
